Towards Mount Puez

Sometimes our eyes anxiously fall on Gardena Pass, as if we were looking at an Oracle. In fact the bad weather is announced by the clouds quickly gathering on it. The pass, however, is the starting point of many routes that range from easy to difficult, and all leading to beautiful spots.
Towards Mount Puez
One of the most striking ones leads up to Mount Puez and is clearly marked. You have to go towards Mount Cir and climb up to Forcella, that faces Chedul Valley: below, you will see the valley meeting Selva di Val Gardena. Go straight on along a path flanked by steep mountain faces: it’s all ups and downs and leads to Forcella Crespeina.
Suddenly the wonderful Crespeina-Puez plateau appears in front of you, while Mount Odle and the back of Sass Ciampac can be seen on your right. Climb down to the mountain lake, where Mount Puez and the clouds scattered in the summer sky are reflected. Then you will walk across the plateau towards Sass Ciampei and Forcella del Ciampei. On your left, you can see part of Vallelunga, that descends towards Gardena Valley for some kilometres; on the right, you will admire the back of Sassongher and its peak from an unusual perspective. Climb down to Edelwaiss and Colfosco, letting Mount Stella show you some more of its wonders, as for example Mesules and Mount Pisciadù.
