Murin Tavern

Its exterior is made entirely of local wood. We have called it ‘Murin’ because on this place there once was a watermill, to which the farmers came to grind the grain; the water was then diverted to the Gadera stream, the stream that once crossed Corvara.

Ahhh, I almost forgot to tell you that after you having enjoyed our creamy butter bean soup or perhaps the pork ribs marinated in honey, and of course accompanied by a bottle of Pinot Nero (one Euro of its cost always going to the Costa Family Foundation). And by the way it is our tradition to see you off with a classical digestif drink.
Il Murin was built in 2000 and the wood used to build it was all taken from old barns of Val Badia and pieces and slats several hundred of years old were adapted so as to create a rustic and characteristic effect, whilst at the same time being elegant and inviting. Planned and designed by my parents and my younger brother Maximilian, the intention was to create a place where people could really enjoy themselves. No small surprise is it then that you can see 5 beer pumps on the bar and if you look up you will note disco lights and speakers, for in winter, and as we are right adjacent to the ski slopes, the place is transformed into an Apres Ski - dancing and general good time assured!
In summer the atmosphere is totally different, relaxing but without ever being boring. We try to mix up tradition, style and friendly atmosphere. You will often hear Ladin spoken as local people frequent and the Murin staff are expert in converting a dinner into a total experience.
The variety of tables is deliberately bizzare. There are some high style tables for 2 or 3 persons, others with sofas and armchairs, and a few tables for 6 to 8 persons on what would be the dance floor and on the top floor itself. Right at the very very top we have created a table for two, very romantic, and which looks down on all below. It is called Piz Boè because from the small window you can see the peak of the so named mountain. We look forward to weloming you, spoliing you a little, and to taking really good care of you, as is the tradition of the house! Sure that you will spend a pleasant evening with us.
