Let’s make motorbikes available for hire, just like in Ischgl.

Liberty Party (PDL) Provincial Councillor, Mr Maurizio Vezzali, has solved the issue of motorbikes roaming on our mountain roads. According to him the ideal situation is the one adopted in Ischgl, the “porn” mountain resort of the Alps, where bikes are even offered for hire.
Let’s make motorbikes available for hire, just like in Ischgl.

The PDL representative maintains that in this way the problem of noise pollution is solved because motorbikes are regulated. I have met Mr Vezzali, he seems a nice and level-headed person and I just cannot understand his proposal, which is beyond any logic. Dear Mr Vezzali, let's reflect. To begin with you should be aware that the concept of tourism in Ischgl is based on binge drinking and excessive noise at all altitudes. Effective marketing strategies, but is this really what we want in South Tyrol/Alto Adige? We can go down this road, but how can we carry on saying words like nature, silence, and tranquillity? How can we declare ourselves a Unesco World Heritage site? Take a look at the legal restrictions on noise pollution. I would just like to clarify that noise is caused by the high speed and acceleration of motorbikes after bends, even when they are “regulated”; this issue needs to be resolved because noise can damage our health. I do not expect you to be sensitive to the environment or care about the quality of life of the people living in the Dolomite valleys, but when you say that electric bikes are like boomerangs you prove to be out of touch with the times: for years we have been talking about bicycle tourism, slow pace, the importance of silence on our mountains. Where have you been Mr Vezzali?
