Giorgio Moroder Awards

Giorgio Moroder was born in Ortisei on 26th April 1940. Recently moved to Ginevra. He lived in Los Angeles from the early eighties. Composed numerous pieces for Blondie, Nina Hagen, Sparks, Bonnie Tyler.

Responsible for introducing Donna Summer, Bonnie Tyler, Roberta Kelly on the world stage. Composed the anthem for the Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984, Seul in 1988, World Cup in Italy in 1990. Midnight Express (film, 1979) awarded Oscar for best soundtrack; Flashdance (film, 1984) awarded Oscar for the best song "Flashdance - What a Feeling"; Top Gun (film, 1987) Oscar for the best song "Take My Breath Away"; Grammy Award in 1998 for "Carry On" with Donna Summer; World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
Giorgio Moroder returns often to his beloved Val Gardena.
