Summer
In time gone by there was but a marshy valley. It was uncultivated, impervious, inhospitable. Beautiful and harsh at the same time. Quick flowing rivers raged like wild dogs. Then Man came along. He cultivated the land and built embankments. Man, to survive learnt to live with and in Nature - a coming together and a relationship not always easy.
What cock was that I heard? Now I as a man live the Nature all around me, no longer is the harsh and abrupt reaction always necessary, not always an eternal ideological clash between respect and abuse. Man must learn to transform as time goes by. As for myself I love to live and feel alive. Here with The Dolomites I have a special chance – I can live in and love the mountains and I must do so with great respect.
What a privilege it is to live The Dolomites in summer. I want to take in the image of the farmer scything the hay. I need to bend down and drink from the bountiful stream. I am going to walk barefoot across the dewy meadows and absorb the energy radiating through. Each step will fill me with a thousand thoughts, almost rendering me dizzy for such is the force of Nature. Of such relationship I am so happy and eternally grateful.
