La Butëga

Everything you could wish for ... and a little more besides. If you have a passion for small but wonderfully innovative and charming gifts then you have found the right place. Over the years our butëga has grown and been transformed and many conider it to be a treasure of ideas embodying good taste and super ‘finds’ for one’s own home or that memorable (and useful!) gift for friends. May your wishes come true!
La Butëga

Ceramics, lampshades, fine materials, small treaures, chests of drawers, assorted tables, pillows and cushions, handpainted gifts, rare perfumes, basket-art, candles, mirrors: the shop grew from small beginnings, a bit of a fairytale in many ways, and then with time the objects started to accumulate and finish almost one on top of another. There was always an element of our own need in the development because the hotel has always need of novel things and bright ideas, new designs and delicate touches. Signora Costa and I began, and still do so when we find the time, to travel around and explore and discover special items. The joy of finding just the right thing is a great joy and many great joys we have had over the years. And of course the work and activity itself took a different form and here in this smallish space at the end of the ground floor corridor our butëga emerged. It soon became a regular haunt of guests, they anxious to find something appealing and different, and, credit where credit is due, they would share their delight in a treasure found and ask if it were possible to find one more of the same for the next time they visited La Perla. And so it was in this way that the butëga became a sort of laboratory of research and for me personally a welcome retreat where I could indulge in a particular passion, content and at peace in this pleasurable work of mine. I still notice today the look of the clients as they enter and their eyes fill with satisfaction as they realise that they too have discovered a place where a little dream of their own may be realised – this the magic that only the fascination of small precious finds knows.
